Europe's Philosophy of Failure

The forces of evil are still at it in Europe. Despite the fall of the Berlin Wall and the historical and philisophical debunking of socialism and communism, Foreign Policy magazine just published an article detailing the prejudice and bias rooted in Marxist dogma children are being spoon fed in European schools.

According to F.P. article, the kids are being taught:

...that economic principles such as capitalism, free markets, and entrepreneurship are savage, unhealthy, and immoral ....

If the events of 1989 with the collapse of the Berlin Wall are any indication, in the long run the teacher's attempts to indoctrinate school children with their ideas and philosophy will most suredly fail.

Fortunately, after leaving school, students will have experiences that will undermine or debunk much of what they are taught and they can come in contact with others in Europe who lived under the iron-fisted rule of Marxist and fascist dictatorships. They can also learn what it is really like to live in countries that practiced the philosophy their teachers so positively propagandize(d) in favor of.

Its no coincidence that, over time, countries opt for economic freedom rather than collectivism or central planning since people's underlying sense of life is freedom and prosperity. A prime example of this is to look at the prosperity people who live in the United States enjoy thanks our capitalistic economy to the people who live in Mexico and other Latin American countries that are heavily regulated and infested with corruption.

It is also no coincidence that countries that have capitalistic economies better protect people's individual rights and freedoms and prosper as opposed to planned economies that result in political oppression and economic destitution.

Also, many people who vote in formerly communist, countries, like Poland, are opting to elect people to office that will liberalize their country's economy. Even prior to the collapse of many communist dictatorships, the fact that people would do almost anything they could to escape is an indication that people want freedom and the ability to live rather than be directed and that central planning is the wrong economic system.

It just so happens that, according to the Cato Institute and Heritage Foundation economic freedom index studies, some countries of Europe have free economies such as England, Ireland and Germany, respectfully.

What will end much of the practice of teachers attempting to indoctrinate kids in Marxism hoping to get it right this time is to re-assert capitalism's true moral foundations of egoism, reason and voluntary trade.

Yet again, collectivists and their altruist philosophies (be it environmentalism, religion, animal rights, Marxism or fascism) must be exposed for the frauds they are since altruism and its followers hold that individuals no right to follow their rational self-interest and people have a duty to exist and sacrifice themselves for the sake of others.

Despite the claims made by altruists as outlined above and in the F.P. article, capitalism is the best and only system that can ensure not only freedom and prosperity but also to enable someone to be able to live and sustain their life.

It is this reason alone that makes advocating for capitalism's moral foundations the best manner in which to undermine collectivism in all of its forms since, under capitalism, man is an end in himself as opposed to treating people like a means to an end like is seen with collectivism.

Ayn Rand also commented on the tribalism that Europe experiences to this day and I would dare to argue that it is this mentality that has held Europe back from fully embracing capitalism and freedom in the long term. Hopefully, younger generations of Europeans will reject the altruism of generations past and embrace economic and personal freedom for generations to come.
